Councillor Bill Walmsley was made Mayor of Middlewich in a ceremony in Victoria Hall on Monday and our group were given three invitations to attend the event which was also attended by a large number of friends, family, dignitaries and representatives of other local organisations.
Robyn, Janet and Jackie represented our Middlewich group during the evening. The new mayor thanked his family and all that attended for their support in his acceptance speech. He went on to say “I will be having lots of fundraising events and what all of these events really need is you to come along and support and remember, every penny raised will go to local good causes”.
This is especially relevant to Middlewich Additional Needs Network as he has included our charity as one of three groups he intends supporting in the next year along with Middlewich Good Neighbours and Middlewich Uniformed Groups.
The new Mayor said: “Middlewich Additional Needs Network came into being just over a year ago. It was formed by parents, with the aim of helping families in our community who struggle with the demands of everyday life. One way they do this is by running special events for children and their families”.
We wish him all the best in his role as Mayor and hope to support him as he supports us.
