Organisations

Aiming Higher – Blackpool is a brilliant charity established in 2011 for disabled children and their families. We are hoping to develop ties with them as they are what we hope to be in 7 or 8 years time.

Cheshire Buddies‎ – Central Cheshire Buddy Scheme (CCBS) is a registered charity (charity no. 1160519). Established in 2004, CCBS supports children and young people with disabilities, their families and their siblings through activity clubs, holiday clubs and residential breaks. They run 7 activity groups, supporting over 150 disabled children each month. They also run the ‘Changing Lives Project’ which provides activities for disabled adults. The organisation has a 17 seater minibus donated by the Morgan Foundation used for trips and activities.

Autism Support North West – togethertrust.org.uk‎  Together Trust has a range of ASC support services in the North West, They have a state of the art facility, Assistive technology & Therapy services

The National Autistic Society   They are the leading UK charity for autistic people (including those with Asperger syndrome) and their families.

The Blind Society   The Royal National Institute of Blind People is a UK charity offering information, support and advice to almost two million people in the UK with sight loss.

The Deaf Society   A charity dedicated to providing support, information and advice for deaf children and young people, their families and professionals working with them. As a leading provider of impartial information and individual advocacy on every aspect of childhood deafness, the NDCS can help with welfare rights and benefit claims, making education choices, advising on health and audiology and technology, or simply as someone to talk to.

Diabetes UK  Pretty much everything you need to know about diabetes.

Meet n Match   Unfortunately, this organisation is some distance away as it is based in Lancashire, however, we are not aware of another like it and its services are special. Meet ‘N’ Match is a friendship and dating agency for adults with a learning disability. They provide an exclusive matching service for their members, whether you or someone you know is looking for friends or that someone special. They also provide social activities and relationship training, to enable and improve experiences when looking for new connections.

S.P.A.C.E. Stockport   A support group for parents and carers of children and young people in the Stockport area with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and associated conditions. The SPACE committee members are all local parents, who have children with ADHD. They hold regular meetups, which are an opportunity to talk to other parents who face the same challenges, in a relaxed and informal way.

Winstons Wish  is the UK’s leading childhood bereavement charity. They support children and their families after the death of a parent or sibling.
